Prof. Dr. Ioannis Papadimopoulos, LL.M. acquired his Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) at the Democritus University of Thrace (Greece) and his LL.M. and PhD in Business Law at the Justus Liebig University, in Giessen (Germany). His PhD thesis was carried out under Prof. Thomas Raiser’s supervision. Prof. Dr. Papadimopoulos was also a Postdoctoral Researcher at Johannes Gutenberg University in Germany as DAAD Foundation scholarship holder. He is a Full Professor at the Department of Business Administration of the University of Thessaly, in Larissa, Greece. He teaches European and Greek Business Law, Greek Civil Law, Labor Law and Contract Law for Projects, Procurements and Services in the Public and State Sector. His research and teaching interests also include startup companies, family business and the application of modern technologies on business and entrepreneurships. He has published a lot of articles and papers in prestigious German and Greek journals and has co-written books on European and Greek Business and Civil Law issues. His work has been cited by famous academics both in Greece, as well as abroad. He was appointed by the Greek State as a member of the Legislatorial Committee on Law 4072/2012 on the improvement of the business environment – and specially on the establishment of the appropriate form of legal entity for the effective operation of the startups - in Greece. He is legal advisor in start up – companies and nonprofit organizations.
