The course introduces to students the most fundamental and current principles of change management. Particular focus is placed on the application of the above principles, by means of analyzing in depth the prospective improvements of the economic environment. The course, which aims to frame the current socio-economic requirement for a smooth and timely adaptation to the ever-changing conditions, manages the theory of Change Management as a complete set of principles, methods and practices, as well as usages to identify, process and effectively manage changes in both businesses and organizations. Modern conditions and the ever-changing environment shape the need to adapt to multidimensional business developments. A necessary condition for the survival and development of organizations is the cultivation of the ability to understand the internal and external environment, the development of systems for monitoring the performance of multiple business dimensions and making changes when deemed necessary. In this context, it is critical for any organization to know and manage change.
Modern managers should be able — by means developing skills to introduce organizational changes— to convince of the usefulness of their proposals and innovative ideas, so that they are accepted and implemented. But most importantly, they should be able to first “establish" and then effectively implement the organizational changes proposed by the Management in the Team, the Department, the Directorate.
