Learning outcomes


This course introduces the students to the concept of leadership and to the internal and external business environment, and focus on answering to the following questions:

How can we define leadership?

A leader is born or created?

Which are the basic characteristics of a leader?

Which are the ways that a leader should develop?

Which are the basic theories concerning leadership?

After the successful completion of the course, the students will be able to:

Understand in depth the concept of leadership and the ways that it develops.

Understand the factors that influence the efficient leadership behavior.

Realize and analyze which are the basic characteristic of the personality of a leader and how can they influence their behavior

Understand the basic skills that a leader should have according to their hierarchic level

Understand Blake & Mouton model and recognize the different styles of leadership that modern leaders should develop

Apply the basic modern leadership theories (Transformational, Laissez-faire etc)

Identify the reasons why a leader may go off the rails

Critically study some of the most famous modern and past leaders

Search, analysis and synthesis of data and information, using the necessary technologies
