Dr Achilleas Anagnostopoulos is a teaching faculty member (EDIP) in the Department of Business Administration at the University of Thessaly. He holds a PhD in Human Resource Management and Industrial Relations from the University of Birmingham, United Kingdom.

His teaching and research connect HRM with skills development and sustainable careers. His research focuses on HRM practices, employee attitudes and behaviours, human skills, and professional development and self-presentation.

He has participated in research and development projects at national and European levels. Among other roles, he has served as a national expert for Greece on projects for the European Commission’s DG Employment and as scientific coordinator of projects funded by SEV (Hellenic Federation of Enterprises) and the Stavros Niarchos Foundation. He also serves as an expert evaluator of proposals under Horizon Europe - Cluster 2.

His teaching integrates academic learning with real-world challenges faced by organisations and businesses. He uses experiential and collaborative methods, with an emphasis on challenge-based learning. Students explore complex problems, consider alternative perspectives and develop evidence-based solutions, strengthening their critical thinking, decision-making, collaboration and adaptability.

He designs and delivers Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Programmes (BIPs), bringing together students, academics and organisations from different European countries. As academic coordinator of pHRonesis and pHRonesis II, he guides international student teams in developing solutions to business challenges.

He is also the founder of the Department’s Business Case Study Club (, where students and graduates work together on business cases to develop strategic thinking, business judgement and career readiness.
