Short curriculum vitae

Dr Ioanna Kastelli is Assistant Professor at University of Thessaly, School of Economics and Business Administration, Department of Business Administration. She holds a PhD in Economics of Technology and Technology Policy.

Her research interests, professional skills and publications relate to the areas of Strategic Management; Economics of Technology and Innovation; Industrial Economics and Policy; Entrepreneurship; Digital and Green Transition at the firm and sector level.

In 2024 she became President of the European Association for Evolutionary Political Economy.

In 2023 she published with Keun Lee and Lukasz Mamica the special issue “Industrial Policy for Sustainable Development” at the Review of Evolutionary Political Economy, Springer.

She has participated in many European and national research projects. Her research has been published in peer reviewed journals, book chapters and conferences. She is a co-author of the book: "Competitiveness and Technology in Greece ". Her published work has more than 1800 citations. She is coordinator of the Research Area Industrial Policy and Development at the European Association of Evolutionary Political Economy and associate editor of the Review of Evolutionary Political Economy, Springer. She is peer reviewer for an extensive catalogue of academic journals and international conferences.

In the past she was Senior Tenured Researcher at National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), researcher at the Laboratory of Industrial and Energy Economics – NTUA, coordinator of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Unit at NTUA and scientific associate of the Technology Transfer Office – NTUA. She has taught undergraduate and post-graduate courses in Economics and Business at the National Technical University of Athens, National Kapodistrian University of Athens, Hellenic Open University and University of the Aegean.
